"Don't look at me like that." For a tiny, flower-spotted hedgehog, the Shaymin holds a fierce glare when Gavin lets it out of its luxury ball. "You chose to come with me."

Admittedly, he's not had much time or desire to bond with the Pokémon. Rocket comes first. His shadows come first. But for the quaint, relaxing atmosphere of Hoenn's premier route, the Shaymin seems a perfect companion. It huffs at him, annoyed, then begins to spread a SWEET SCENT.

No doubt that would attract something...

Shaymin seems disappointed when the SWEET SCENT pervading the air does little to draw attention. Snuffling, the grass-pelted hedgehog potters over to a nearby tree stump...

... and fires off an instinctive SEED FLARE when the startled Phantump inhabiting said stump lashes out with WOOD HAMMER. Their squabble is brief but violent, the Phantump's DESTINY BOND bringing Shaymin down with it.

"That didn't last long."

Sighing, Gavin recalls his fainted Pokémon and reaches for an empty ball. Guess we're going home.
